"The Belt and Road Initiative" and sustainable development of human settlements

Mr. Jing Congrong, founder of the Settlement Environmental Academic Summit and Secretary-general of the Shenzhen Human Settlement Environment Seminar , proposed in his speech that the Chinese government proposed the “The Belt and Road Initiative” macro development strategy and remodeled some of the internationally developed healthy orders. China’s own future development is sustainable in the areas of urban renewal and featured townships. At present, the total energy consumption of China's electricity accounts for the first in the world, about 27%, more than 15 times that of the United Kingdom, more than 1.5 times that of the EU, and less than 10% of renewable energy. The Chinese government is making great efforts to develop clean energy, nuclear energy, solar energy, hydropower, wind energy, etc., reduce dependence on coal, and pass legislation to increase ecological and environmental protection.

Design for the Future

Dr Stephen Platt(Middle)Chairman, Cambridge Building Research Center

Dr Stephen Platt, chairman of the Cambridge Building Research Center, spoke at the development of Cambridge as an example and talked about the topic of "How to get ordinary people involved in the design of the city." Cambridge is Europe's largest scientific and technological settlement, and employment will double every 10 years. He said that many people think that it is difficult to balance urban development and environmental protection. However, during the development of Cambridge, the public was surveyed. The public's support for environmental protection is not as bad as it should be. City designers can find an eclectic way to better plan the future of the city.

In the new historical era of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, it has developed to a new height.

Dr. Willian Fawcett, chairman of the Cambridge Building Research Center in the United Kingdom, said that the great development of Chinese cities in recent decades has made tremendous contributions to the world's human settlements environment and reflected Chinese wisdom. Shenzhen, China, is a classic paradigm worthy of in-depth study which from a small fishing village to a modern, cosmopolitan city where adults and nature are harmonious and livable, I hope to go to live there.

Mr. Jing Congrong, the founder of the Human Settlement Environment Academic Summit and the Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Human Settlement Environmental Seminar, also said in an interview with People's Network UK reporters that he hopes to establish an international university, NGO organization, design agency, and high technology through this summit. The platform for corporate cooperation, reconstruction of the International Green City Development Alliance, China and the Belt and Road countries to provide green city development solutions and assistance, play a leading role in China's international community.
